The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs have released their Friday status checks/injury updates for the week. This, ahead of their week five matchup at Arrowhead Stadium is a very important indicator on who will most likely play, and who will most likely sit.

For the Jaguars, their major injuries coming into the week were Jaguars Running back Leonard Fournette and Center Brandon Linder. With Fournette (as well as D.J. Hayden) already ruled out, all of the focus then shifted onto a surprise injury listing of Andrew Norwell (foot) and Brandon Linder himself. Today, Linder and Norwell were listed as off of the injury report, thus meaning they will more than likely suit up this week.

This news is very important to the Jaguars offense as they came into Friday’s status update with 4/5 of their projected starters along the offensive line heading into the 2018 season on the injury report itself. With Cam Robinson out for the season, all five of the Jaguars projected offensive line starters have dealt with injuries thus far this season. If the Jaguars can go forward without more major injuries on the offensive line their season will go a lot more smoothly.

The only player questionable for the Jaguars this week is Rookie Cornerback Tre Herndon who tweaked his hamstring either today or yesterday in practice. Other than Herndon, we already know Fournette and Hayden will be out this week. Hayden was seen around the Jaguars locker room with a walking boot on his right leg. All the rest of the Jaguars listed on the earlier reports are off of the injury report, meaning they will more than likely suit up for the game Sunday.

If Herndon can’t go do not be surprised if the Jaguars call up rookie Cornerback Quenton Meeks to the 53-man roster. Currently, the Jaguars only have 3 fully healthy corners (Bouye, Ramsey, and Patmon).

Here are the teams Friday injury reports:

CB D.J. Hayden (Toe): OUT

RB Leonard Fournette (Hamstring): OUT

CB Tre Herndon (Hamstring): Questionable

WR Sammy Watkins (Hamstring): Questionable

LB Dee Ford (Groin): Questionable

S Eric Berry (Heel): Doubtful

S Armani Watts (Groin): Questionable

As for the Chiefs, they are going to most likely be without starting Safety Eric Berry (doubtful) for yet another week as he nurses bone spurs in his heel. The Jaguars should be able to take advantage in the passing game as well as the run game this Sunday. As for other Chiefs injuries, defensive end Dee Ford and Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins are listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup.

I would think it would be safe to assume at least Ford is on the better side of questionable, whereas Sammy Watkins could be more 50/50 as Hamstring injuries are tricky as Jaguars fans know full well.

This should be a pretty interesting matchup. Jaguars have the number one defense in the NFL. Chiefs have the number one offense in the NFL. Somethings gotta give. Tune in on CBS at 1 PM to watch the game.

Jaguars Activate Tackle Josh Wells, Release Niles Paul from IR

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a couple more roster moves this Friday after releasing Strong Safety Barry Church. The Jaguars have finally activated Tackle Josh Wells. Wells was placed on short-term injured reserve after week five with a groin injury.

This move comes at an opportune time as the Jaguars will be without Right Tackle Jermey Parnell. Wells will more than likely start at Right Tackle this week against the Redskins.

The Jaguars have also released Niles Paul from injured reserve, signed Lyndon Johnson from the teams practice squad, and placed OL Josh Walker on injured reserve.

Jaguars vs. Redskins: Friday Injury Report, Parnell Out, Lambo in Doubt

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Washington Redskins have released their Friday final status/injury report of the week ahead of their week fifteen matchup at TIAA Bank Field. For the Jaguars, they will be without Jermey Parnell, D.J. Chark, and Josh Walker.

All three players are listed as out with various injuries. The Jaguars have a move they could potentially make in activating Tackle Josh Wells who has been practicing the past couple of weeks. D.J. Chark will miss his fourth consecutive game making his rookie season disappointing in the end, unfortunately.

The other major area of concern is kicker Josh Lambo being listed as Questionable. A little later in the day, the Jaguars signed Kicker Kai Forbath which suggests he will probably be out this Sunday against the Redkins. We will revisit this on Sunday when the inactive players are released.

Below are both teams status reports:

WR D.J. Chark Jr. (Quadricep): Out

RT Jermey Parnell (Knee): Out

OL Josh Walker (Ankle): Out

LB Lerentee McCray (Illness): Questionable

K Josh Lambo (Right Groin): Questionable

LB Ryan Anderson (Hamstring): Out

TE Jordan Reed (Ankle/Foot): Out

WR Josh Doctson (Concussion): Questionable

DE Matt Ioannidis (Shin): Questionable

OT Ty Neskhe (Knee): Questionable

OT Mogan Moses (Ankle): Questionable

LS Nick Sundberg (Back): Questionable

S Monte Nicholson (Illness): Questionable

RB Chris Thompson (Illness): Questionable

The Redskins have a much more lengthy status report than the Jaguars which is remarkable given how the Jaguars injuries have gone this season. Washington will be without at least a couple of starters including their starting Linebacker and Tight End. They also more than likely will be without a starting wide receiver in Josh Doctson.

Their Long Snapper Nick Sundberg has a high possibility of missing the game this Sunday as well because of a back injury. They have brought in a few long snappers to work out in the event he is not able to go.

Jaguars sign Kicker Kai Forbath in Wake of Josh Lambo Injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a roster move in wake of the Josh Lambo right-groin injury. They have signed former Redskins and Vikings Kicker Kai Forbath. Forbath has a career FG% of 85.9% which is at the very least respectable in a league where kickers seem to be missing routine kicks daily now.

With Lambo potentially out the Jaguars were forced into a move. This could always be more of a cautionary move in the case Lambo does not play, but generally speaking, if a team signs a kicker near the end of the week it is not a good sign. We will see what happens when the last injury report comes out.
